If you are looking for some fun to have with your dog, head up to Gunflint Lodge in Minnesota’s north woods for one of  their Dog Lover’s Weekends. Your dog will have plenty of time to explore and interact with other dogs, and you know they prefer to be with you enjoying the trip rather than being left behind.

The lodge has some fairly simple rules, including keeping your dog on a leash when outside, securing them (crates are your friend) if they are left in your cabin unattended, and notifying them about any unintentional damage to the cabin.

There’s also a special ski trail that’s available for you and your dog so you can explore the woods together. Not able to make one of the Dog Lover’s Weekends, your dog is welcome other times too for a $20 per pet per night charge.

Not sure what to bring? Here’s a short list:

  1. Enzymatic Cleaner (In case of accidents)
  2. Crate
  3. Food, Water and Treats
  4. Bowls
  5. Leashes and collars
  6. Pooper Scooper bags
